Yes, hardware compatibility more than anything.
For browsing, not really as long as you use common sense, and are using it on old (Pentium 4 or older) hardware.
Anything that can run Windows 7+ WELL (I know it runs on a Pentium II but it's only usable on a Core 2 Duo+) should be running Windows 7. Anything that can't run the last OS that runs well.
What I think is stupid is people installing XP on there new i7 custom build, or on their MacBook Air. That's just stupid

I have no choice but to install Windows XP Home on my MacBook Pro 2009 model. It's in VirtualBox mode because the computer is 64-bit while my XP is only 32-bit. So 32-bit couldn't be installed on a SATA drive. I'd rather have an old CPU for my XP, but they are no longer available new. They only have used ones left on eBay. Besides I ran out of money a long time ago and don't care to go about accepting stuffs from strangers hehe

And BTW no. I use Windows XP as my main OS. Commented this with it. I simply love it.

Jesus Christ.
Here is "foggy" hehe
It works on Windows XP 32-bit.
Depending on your computer speed if it is greater than 500mhz or 1GHz then you're in luck. It will make the screen look foggy.
Enjoy from the top producer of the century, Tien Nguyen.
Honours to my real dad Nguyen Binh Thuy for teaching me the secrets of programming passed from generation to generation. It only runs in the secrecy of the family hierarchy. No one can infiltrate the line of secret top producers.
Honours to my real mom Huong Thi Vu for being the pretty one of the family so I am alive today.
Love to my real sister Nguyen Khoa Thi for graduation officially. She kicks butts in her career.
Love to my real sister Nguyen Khoa Thuyen for also, her gratuation, she kicks too. haha
Thank you Jesus Christ.
Eternal from now on

Well I'm putting XP back on in Snow Leopard. It is only VM so it's not perfect! I would like XP on my system however the dual boot is not working too well. My DVD writer is so old that it only writes 300MB out of the whole 4.7gb. That is no exaggeration. So instead of me spending under $30 per pack of 100 disks I end up spending over a $100 if I wanted to write the same amount. I guess I have to listen to my father now. He says just be frugal and space it out. So just back up once every 10 years if you can help it. Hopefully my system stays clean so it doesn't go down in between. My mother says just keep the original safe so you can restore it and start from scratch if necessary. My two sisters say keep studying and maybe one day you get paid like we do. Well the main point is I'm back on XP after trying a bunch of other system. MS-DOS 6.22 is still the main platform for my programs.
I don't know what happens in the future however I'm planning on selling my softwares eventually. I might not get much though. It might be way into the future when I need it the most. Like when I have a family of my own and want to make my parents know that it wasn't a waste that they sent me to community college and home school for programming.
I just ask you excuse me for all my social blunders. I know being an immigrant doesn't give me the right to curse and be loud and so on. I know I'm not perfect and I just thank God my family doesn't suffer because of me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a processor intensive application. You could use your own 256-color uncompress Microsoft bitmap image 320x200 in dimension. However for the purpose of this demonstration it shows that the area is calculated with a very heavy formula. Of course you need Algebra training to produce the formula. I recommend a processor at least Quad core 32-bit with the ability to run 16-bit application. For example to show how processor intensive it is a single core takes maybe hours to complete depending on the ability of the machine.

I have Windows XP installed on my Pentium D HP Pavilion I had trouble finding the drivers for it, but found them anyway. I just can't get it to read DVD's as XP doesn't Natively support DVD's. It's one those Media Center PC's but I don't have the Media Center Version of XP.
