Hello everyone!
I took my first steps into the world of computing back in 1993 with DOS and Windows 3.11. Even though I have been using Linux almost exclusively since 2006, I was thrilled when I came across Vetusware some years ago and was able to set up a virtual machine with my beloved old software!
I'm leaving some pics here:
My Windows 3.11 is running on VirtualBox. I can get documents and stuff in and out of the virtual machine by mounting iso images (no special software needed to create iso images in Linux), and floppy disk images thanks to WinImage. Here I am using Word 6, while listening to some music thanks to WinPlay3.
I can also open some old multimedia CDs, like Mindscape's Complete Reference Library, which came with an old Packard Bell computer I bought back in 1995, I think.
I can even watch video, although the colors on the screen get a bit messed up, as you can see in the next picture. No big deal, though.
One thing I have not been able to do, however, is connecting Windows 3.11 to the Internet. But this is not really important, and I don't want to break my virtual machine.
